This fall, we are teaming up with Common Tone to bring Story Makers to the Maryland Museum of Natural Sciences. Designed for children aged 1-5 and their caregivers, each session will include a family craft and music event that explores a story through songs, art, movement, and play. Children will create and take home a craft inspired by the story. The stories we select will be nature-based, and the museum will have specimens from the collection for children to explore, making this a truly unique program.
This is an 8-week program, meeting on Tuesdays from 9:30-10:15 am from September 22 to November 17 (no session on Nov. 3). You can register for the whole series or just a single session.
Payment and Cancellation Policy: Payment is due online at the time of registration. Cancellations made 14 or more days in advance of the event will receive a refund minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations made within 14 days of the event will not receive a refund. Events and field trips with fees of $25 or less are non-refundable at any time unless canceled by NHSM. NHSM retains the right to update or change these requirements at any time.

Founded in 2024 by Baltimore-based teachers Mike Feathers and Beth Pacione, Common Tone encourages students of all ages to develop a love and appreciation for music, movement, visual art, and drama. Common Tone believes in cultivating a community of dedicated educators and musicians who engage and inspire students by implementing the use of authentic instruments and encouraging self-discovery through music.
