Join us as we look for dinosaur bones at Maryland ‘s very own Dinosaur Park!

This unique site in Laurel, Maryland is part of the Muirkirk Deposits and contains a rare accumulation of fossils from the early Cretaceous period, about 115 million years ago. Hailed as “one of the most prolific sites for dinosaur and plant fossils east of the Mississippi River” visitors have discovered hundreds of fossils, including bones from Astrodon sp., Deinonychus sp., Priconodon sp., Nodosaurus sp., and others.

Participants will get early access to the park, recieve an orientation, and get an opportunity to surface hunt in on the back hill while the public hunts on the front hill. Please note that you will NOT be able to keep any fossils you find. Any fossils found are property of the state of Maryland and must be turned over to Dinosaur Park staff or volunteers to be catalogued.
