Lectures & Workshops Special Event

Join us in learning about one of Maryland’s most unique state parks – Hart-Miller Island. We’ll explore the history of Hart, Miller, and Pleasure Islands, including their transformation from a dredge material containment facility to a one-of-a-kind state park that attracts some of the largest concentrations of migrating shorebirds in Maryland and serves thousands of visitors annually.
NHSM’s own Program Coordinator, Rachel Bukoski is a biologist and environmental educator. Currently a seasonal park ranger at Hart-Miller Island, she loves introducing people to this hidden gem in the Chesapeake Bay.
