Spring is typically when one thinks about salamander reproduction, but here’s an opportunity to learn about the marbled salamander, a fall breeder. Nature photographer David Hand, who has spent many hours finding and examining salamander nests and eggs and documenting every stage of the salamander’s development from embryo to adult, will present incredible still photos and videos of the marbled salamander and its life cycle.
David Hand is a nature photographer and naturalist who lives in western Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, with his wife of 40 years, Beverly, and their two dogs, Maddie and Sam. His main interest is studying the lives of salamanders, particularly the marbled salamander (Ambystoma opacum). He will share the life cycle of this amazing salamander through his own pictures and video, along with stories from his field observations. David’s work has been featured in Reptiles Magazine.
