Come and learn an overview of Australian crocodilians, snakes, and lizards that reside in both the National Aquarium and the wild as a whole and what make them so special and unique with Drew Roderuck, Herpetologist at the National Aquarium.
From Drew: “Working in the field of Herpetology for 13 years, I have spent the majority of my career with a focus on snakes and crocodilians and particularly Australian reptiles in general. In addition to my work at the National Aquarium I have also gone through the Crocodilian Biology and Management course at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and extensive training with venomous snakes. As part of my work at the aquarium I am also the aquarium’s liaison to the Greater Baltimore chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers organization furthering the development of animal care professionals. I have also been fortunate to present on crocodilians and their behavior in a variety of forums and conferences including the Regional Aquatics Workshop that was hosted in Baltimore this past year.”

Are you fascinated by reptiles and amphibians? The Natural History Society of Maryland’s Herp Club promotes the proper husbandry, conservation, study, and appreciation of reptiles and amphibians. Amateurs, professionals, and kids of all ages are welcome. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month and are open to the public.
Although you don’t need to be a member to attend a meeting, membership gives you access to additional experiences. An annual NHSM membership is $35 for individuals, $50 for families; Herp Club membership is an additional $5 for individuals and $10 for families.
