Field Trips Open to the Public Wild Edible Walks

Morel mushrooms come out in the early spring, and can be found in wet areas usually, the mushrooms grow on the edges of wooded areas, especially around oak, elm, ash, and aspen trees.

Wild edibles offer a variety of health benefits to you and add unique flavors and textures to your meals. Join Nick Spero for a walk to learn about one of the first wild edibles of the season, morel mushrooms! He’ll show you the plants you can pick and nibble along the way, as well as those that you need to bring home to prepare for a meal. You will also learn how to forage in a safe and sustainable manner.

Please note that Morels are very temperature and moisture dependent. We will do our best to find them, but like all natural things we can make no guarantees.
